Bog Works

Bog works is a beach/reef break onto a rocky beach, located along New Plymouths coastal walkway near the old sewage outfall pipe. Its a long paddle out to the break and the break needs to be big before it works. Bog Works is a big peak, with both rights and lefts available. The wave has a fast drop in, then into a big long wally section. Leave this break to the experts. Know the rules and respect the locals.

Belt Road

Belt Road is a left hand point break onto a sandy/rocky beach, located along New Plymouths coastal walkway.  The wave is normally fat and sectiony with really long rides. Good mal wave. On rare occasions it can get good with grinding barrels all the way through. Belt Road needs a good size swell to get it working. Is a bit of paddle out. Suitable for intermediate to expert surfers. Know the rules and respect the locals.

Back Beach

Back beach is a beach break on a sandy beach. There are several peaks, offering both right and left handers. The waves are powerful and punchy, top quality. Picks up good swell and can be a bit more sheltered than other breaks with some wind directions.  Suitable for all surfers. Very popular beach so watch out for swimmers. Know the rules and respect the locals.

Weld Road

Weld Road is a beach break on a sandy beach with stoney/boulder areas down the beach and some rocks out in the surf break. There are both right and left handers to choose from. Weld Road is a good fun wave, and good for longboards. Suitable for all surfers.

Komene Road

Komene Road is a left hand point break on a stoney/boulder point and some beach breaks along the beach. The wave is generally punchy and fun, but will change depending on conditions. Good for all surfers.

Graveyards

Graveyards is a left-hand point break on a stoney/boulder point, located just north of Rocky Rights/Lefts. The wave is long and wally with several sections to navigate, also offering some barrels. Best for intermediate to expert surfers.

Rocky Lefts

Rocky Lefts is a left hand point break on a stoney/boulder point. The wave is hollow with good barrels on offer. Good for intermediate to expert surfers. Rocky Rights is the right hander off the south side of the same point.

Rocky Rights

Rocky Rights is a right hand point break on a stoney/boulder point. The wave is fast and long, with a good wally to rip apart. Good for intermediate to expert surfers. Rocky Lefts is the left hander off the north side of the same point.

Crushers

Crushers is a beach break on a stoney/rocky beach. There several peaks along the beach, with both right and left handers. A very exposed break, picking up strong winds and big swells. When its on, the wave is good and punchy. Good for intermediate to expert surfers.

Fin Fucker

Fin Fucker is a left-hand point break on a stoney/rocky beach. There is a nice, long, left-hand point and some beach break peaks along the beach from the point. A very exposed break, picking up strong winds and big swells. When it's on, the wave is good, wally and long. Suitable for intermediate to expert surfers.
