Northland has some amazing surf breaks, including 'Shipwrecks', one of the longest waves in NZ. Along with its warmer climate at the top of the North Island, its remoteness generally offers uncrowded waves, especially in the winter months. Another of Northland's benefits is that its east and west coasts are so close in proximity, there is a good chance you will find a clean wave within a short drive. Enjoy!
