Blackhead
Blackhead is one of Dunedin's local beaches on the southern side of the city. Blackhead is a beach break on a golden sand beach. There are several peaks down the beach with both right and left-handers. The wave is powerful, with steep, fast drop-ins and good barrels. Suitable for all levels of surfer.

Directions
From Dunedin City, head south on Cumberland Street, State Highway 1, and turn right onto the Southern Motorway, State Highway 1, towards Invercargill. Turn left onto the exit for Abbotsford/Sunnyvale/Brighton onto Westland Street, Then turn left onto Main South Road State Highway 1D and turn right onto Brighton Road. Turn left onto Blackhead Road and when you hit the coastline and the Blackhead Quarry, turn off into the carpark beside the quarry.
