Te Akau is located on the west coast of Waikato, not far north of Raglan. From Hamilton head north west on Avalon Drive Bypass, State Highway 1. At Ngaruawahia turn left onto Princess Street, then right onto Herschel Street, then left onto Waingaro Road. Continue onto State Highway 22, heading west, through Glen Massey. Turn left onto Te Akau Road, then continue onto Te Akau Coast Road and take the next left onto the gravel road which will wind its way out to the beach.
