Kuaotunu Beach

Kuaotunu Beach is a right hand point break off a rocky point onto a sandy beach, located at the eastern end of the beach, on the north eastern tip of the Coromandel Peninsula. Kuaotunu Beach is a fairly sheltered bay and needs a decent swell to get it working. The wave is fast and hollow, with barrels on offer. there are also some fun beach breaks down the beach. Coromandel beaches are popular, so Know the rules and respect the locals. Good for advanced to expert surfers.

Directions 

Kuaotunu Beach is on the east side of the Coromandel peninsula, near the northern tip, on State Highway 25. From Thames head north on Queen Street, State Highway 25. You will go round the northern tip of the Coromandel Peninsula towards the east side. When you get to Kuaotunu on Kuaotunu Wharekaho Road, stop at the eastern end of Kuaotunu Beach, near the boat ramp.
