Description:

Tumbledown Bay is a nice small, sheltered beach break. It is a sandy bay with a very low gradient. It needs some good swell to get waves, and is a good learners or mal wave. Usually quite small 0.5 - 2ft but can get a little bigger.

Directions:
From Christchurch Drive out through Halswell on Christchurch Akaroa Road highway 75, through Tai Tapu, past Birdlings Flat to Little River. Just as your entering Little River take the right hand turn off on Wairewa Pa Road, signed posted to southern bays, then take the first right on to Kinloch Road. The road will wind up the hill. At the summit the road will change to gravel, here turn right on to Bossu Road, then take the first left on to Te Oka Bay Road. When you get to the first farmers house keep going straight and follow the road round to the next bay which is Tumbledown Bay. Park on the grass car park beside the road and walk over the dunes to the surf.
