The Groyne
The Groyne is a beach break on a sandy beach, located near the breakwater at the eastern end of Fitzroy beach. There are several peaks to choose from with both right and left handers. The wave is punchy and hollow, with barrels on offer. Suitable for all surfers, although shorey can get nasty. Popular beach, so watch out for swimmers, Know the rules and respect the locals.

Directions
From New Plymouth city centre head east on Devon Street east, then continue straight onto Clemow Road. Follow this all the way around past the golf course to the breakwater at the eastern end of Fitzroy beach. Alternatively you can head to Fitzroy beach and walk along the coastal walk way to the eastern end of the beach.
