Oakura Beach
Oakura is a great beach break, heaps of fun. Offers both right and left handers, which can get hollow and provide some power. It has several peaks down the beach that can change depending on the tide. Check the river mouths for different thats may be working. There is also an outer reef which can be an option on a big swell. Good for all levels. It gets very popular in summer, so watch out for swimmers.

From New Plymouth head soth west on Devon Street West. Continue out of New Plymouth on South Road State Highway 45. When you get to Oakura, turn right onto either Dixon Street or Wairau Road, down to the beach. There is a surf club at Oakura. Oakura Beach Holiday Park located on the beach front towards the south end of the beach.
