Opotiki
Opotiki Beach is a long beach consisting of a beach break on a sandy beach. There are several peaks and river bars down the beach to choose from, along Opotiki/Waiotahi coast. The waves are changable depending on tide and sand movement. Travel down the beach and find a good peak or bar to ride, you should be able to find some fun waves. Suitable for surfers of all levels.

Directions
From Whakatane center, go east on The Strand, then turn right onto George Street, then right again onto Hillcrest Road. Continue straigh on Hillcrest Road and onto Ohope Road, over the hill to Ohope Beach. At Ohope Beach turn right onto Pohutukawa Ave, then right onto Wainui Road. When you get to State Highway 2, turn left onto State Highway 2. Continue until you reach the coast on Waiotahi Road. You can find a peak to surf anywhere along the Waiotahi and Opotiki coast.
