Torere is a right hand point on a shingle/stoney beach, located at the north end of the beach at Torere. Torere requires a big swell to get working which is fairly rare. The wave is wally and long. Suitable for intermediate to expert surfers.

From Whakatane head east through Opotiki and change from State Highway 2 onto State Highway 35. Take this all the way along the coast to Torere, then head to the north end of the beach, turn left onto the gravel road down to the beach at the point.
