Waipu Bar
Waipu Bar is a river bar break on a sandy beach, at the mouth of the Waionehu River. The best peak is on the north side of the river outlet, offering mostly right handers. The wave is short and hollow, with a dredging take off. There are also several peaks down the beach to check out, and you can surf the south side of the river mouth as well. You will need paddle across the river to get to the north side break. The surf will usually be bigger than its from across the river. Best for Intermediate to expert surfers.
