Hokianga

Hokianga is a beach break on a sandy/rocky beach, located on the south head of Hokianga Harbour. There are several peaks to choose from along the beach with both right and left handers. There is also a good right hander on the end of South Head. The wave is punchy. Very strong currents, so you can only surf around lower, incoming tide. Be careful of strong currents or rips. Good for intermediate to expert surfers.
